A little bit about me...

 

At the young age of ten years old I was introduced into the Optical world. It was then, in 1965, that I had my first eye exam followed by my first pair of glasses. Now, you might be thinking what I’ll say next is that I became so enchanted with eyewear that I dropped out of school to own my own business. Well not exactly, actually not even close! The simple truth is, I hated those first pair of glasses. So much in fact that I never put on another pair until the age of eighteen (1973). Coincidentally that was the same year I found myself applying for my first job as an optician in Chicago. At that time I could have not imagined how passionate I would become for eyewear and how much it would change my life.

 

As I honed my craft and my experience grew, so did my admiration and respect for the optical world, and those who dedicated their lives to it. I have worked in nearly every facet of the industry from retail to wholesale and it still fascinates me to this day. My devoted career has taken me coast to coast, from Washington D.C. to California. In 1984, I moved back to my birthplace, Utah, and since that time I have worked with all three “O’s” as we call it, Opticians, Optometrists, and Ophthalmologists. Along this memorable journey I have cultivated many long lasting and outstanding professional relationships, and many of those I still call my friends.

 

After dedicating many decades of my life to this industry, I became uniquely positioned for an even greater calling. Throughout my professional evolution an undeniable entrepreneurial spirit had awakened. In December, 2006, it happened, East Millcreek Eyewear was born! With the help of family, friends, and my loyal customers, this business has taken on a life of its own. It has undoubtedly become an integral part of my life and the best part of my day is finding the perfect frames for you.
